Malthouse denies Cousins move to the pies

Collingwood coach Mick Malthouse has denied speculation the Pies are interested in Ben Cousins beyond 2008, but has backed his former stars return to football.
"I'll be seeing Ben just to have a chat, but that's no indicator whatsoever that we'll be recruiting Ben Cousins," Malthouse said.
"He's got his year to serve and what he does after that, I hope he does get back into football."
Malthouse moved to quash runours of the pies involvement with Brisbane powerhouse Jonathan Brown, and believes that his club is always linked to inuendo.
"Since I've come to Collingwood, when a player is coming out of contract, they're linked to Collingwood.
"There is little if any truth in it (Brown coming to Collingwood) whatsoever," Malthouse said.
Ahead of this weekends clash with the Kangaroos, Malthouse said he was looking forward to the return of Brodie Holland, after a year off.
"He's never going to dominate the game... but he has been highly consitent... he brings to us something different... and that's what we're very very keen to bring back into the side," Malthouse said.
But Malthouse wants Holland to play "smarter" following a 6 week suspension that carried into 2007.
"He won't play without aggression, but hopefully he will play smarter," he said.
But the pies won't be taking their opponents lightly on Saturday night, and says they are a highly respected outfit.
"We have seen North Melbourne stand up and want to be counted by staying here in Melbourne. We have a massive amount of respect for the North Melbourne Football Club."
